HURIDOCS

Feb 2016 - Apr 2020

NLP & ML Specialist

I've been working with HURIDOCS to support human rights defenders with technology. In order to make machine learning and natural language processing accessible to human rights organizations, I built state-of-the-art tools to extract, filter and connect relevant information in large document collections. My responsibilities included the communication of our methodology and results to external partners. Intenmally, I laid the foundations for a conceptual understanding of machine learning with its possibilities and limitations and helped to integrate it into the long-term strategy of HURIDOCS.

Freelance Work

Sep 2018 - Sep 2019

Web App Development

Within this part-time work I had the opporutnity to learn the basics of web application development with Angular. The goal was to create an interactive website to fill in customer information, retrieve respective data from a server and based on their combination compute and visualize a customer's costs. This freelance work taught me so much about code architecture, object oriented programming and time managment.
